At The Rural Women's Counsellor, our mission is to be the guiding light for rural and remote Australian women, offering them affordable, relatable, and accessible mental health support. We are committed to providing professional, compassionate, and motivating counselling services, no matter where you are in this vast and diverse land.

Hey, I’m Zoe

I am the founder of The Rural Women's Counsellor and Master of Counselling trained therapist, registered as level 2 with The Australian Counselling Association.

I live on a farm near the unique NSW / QLD border town of Mungindi with my husband and two young children.

Having lived in some of Australia's most beautiful but isolated farming communities with my husband while raising two very bubbly and active country kids, I have first-hand experience of rural women's challenges, as well as the struggle to find relatable mental health support.

The Rural Women's Counsellor is a specialist teletherapy service available to all rural, remote and isolated Australian women to grow and know they are not alone.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book all appointments at www.theruralwomenscounsellor.com.au. If this option does not work for you, you cannot see a time that works for your schedule, or you would like more information about a particular service, you can e-mail zoe@theruralwomenscounsellor.com.au.

Do you only work with rural women?

The Rural Women’s Counsellor only works with women aged 21 and above based in Australia.

Do I need a referral to book with TRWC?

No, you do not need a referral.

Can I claim a medicare rebate?

At this stage, counsellors are not eligible to provide Medicare rebates (although the cost of counselling services are often comparable to the gap payable when accessing a psychologist under Medicare). The ACA continues to advocate for the counselling community concerning this need.

How do sessions work?

Sessions are limited to 60 minutes via phone or video. You will receive relevant links to join your appointment when booking and again the day before your appointment. You do not need special software or application to join, just a stable internet connection and internet browser.
